Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry
The Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry was established at Sri Mekapati Goutham Reddy Agricultural College, Udayagiri, SPSR Nellore District in the year 2022. The department is offering undergraduate (UG) course for the students enrolled at this college. The department offering courses pertaining to Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry for UG programme.
In UG programme the department offers six courses viz., Fundamentals of Soil Science, Fundamentals of plant biochemistry and biotechnology, Principles of food science and nutrition in the first year. Manures, Fertilizers and Soil Fertility Management, Soil, plant, water and seed testing during second year and Problematic soils and their management in the Third year of B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture.
The main objective of this department is to enhance the knowledge on soil science and agricultural chemistry and to develop the skills pertaining to soil, plant and water analysis and soil health management.
