Department Profile

The Department of Agricultural Extension was established in Sri Mekapati Goutham Reddy Agricultural College, Udayagiri, SPSR Nellore District in the Year, 2022 The Department offers 7 Courses (3 for 1st  Year; 3 for 2nd Year and 1 for 4th Year) to undergraduate students under VI Dean’s Committee and 5 Courses (2 for 1st Year; 2 for 2nd year and 1 for 3rd Year) under V Dean’s Committee for the Students enrolled for B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Programme in this college.

The main objective of the Department is to make the students  familiar with the Human Values and ethics, rural social situations of farming communities, understand the Rural Psyche, develop the leadership Skills,  learn  and practice the innovative methods of Transfer Technology  to reach the unreached; Innovative Methods of Training the Various Stake Holders in the Agriculture – Policy Makers, Administrators, Scientists, Extension Personnel of Agriculture Department, Non – Governmental Organizations, Farmers, Farm Women, Students; Familiarize with the  Usage of Audio – Visual Aids and materials Information and Communication Technologies;  E – Extension and Cyber Extension Methodologies; Developing the art of reading, writing Skills for the Various Information Materials, communication, Flatform Skills  and presentation Skills; Story Board Writing,  Components of Video  Production,  Develop Entrepreneurial Skills, Agri – Entrepreneurial Skills, Mechanics of Establishing Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, Team Building Skills, modus operandi of establishing MSME etc under V & VI Deans Committee.

Arranged for the conduct of Two (2) One Day Certificate Training Programme on Natural Farming Practitioners for2022 Admitted Batch B. Sc (Hons.) Agriculture Final Year AELP Students in Both First Semester (20 January, 2026) and Second Semester (23rdJune, 2026) In cooperation with Social Empowerment and Economic Development Society a partner of National Skill Development Council.
